EXSATIVA ®
A natural food supplement composed of green oats,
nettle and sea buckthorn.
Effects on physical and intellectual wellness,
on energy, performance and sustained effort.

NUTRITION, WELLBEING AND ENERGY
Our body is a "biological machine" using food as source of energy.
As long as our daily diet delivers all the necessary substances
it works perfectly. However, in today's world, much of our food
is altered as a consequence of the environment (pesticides, chemical
fertilizers) and the industrial transformation. In the process
many vital elements essential for our body are lost. In addition,
life styles and working conditions, the fast pace of "modern"
life generate more and more stress. All this may seriously affect
people, particularly persons who are weakened by illness and the
elderly. Stress in the first place affects the central nervous
system. A wide number of bodily functions may suffer, such as
blood pressure, digestion, sleep, sex, mood and the metabolism
in general.
To function well our body needs to be in a good physical condition.
To achieve this it should receive a balanced , healthy diet, supplying
appropriate and assimilable substances. As our diet might not
do this, food supplements may be of help.
Dr. Bircher, a Swiss physician, knew what he was doing when he
adopted the "muesli", the special meal of this mountain shepherd
who invited him to taste his dinner composed of oats, nuts, milk
and honey, as a "food for health". The celebrated "BIRCHER MUESLI"
was born.
It is now legend that Dr. Bricher's shepherd, though an old man,
was in good health and full of life. His father and grand-father
had themselves reached a respectable old age in good health thanks
to their basic daily food, the "muesli", based on oats.
THE EXSATIVA® PROJECT
EXSATIVA is the result of a sustained research effort: screening
of ideas and search of scientific literature. The research was
conducted under the guidance of a group of scientists with competence
both in medicine and chemistry.
The fundamental objective had been set to identify and select
natural substances which could enhance the human body's own defensce
system. After in-depth examination of plants and herbs, oats became
the center of attention. Discovering synergy between Oat and Nettle
and then Sea Buckthorn a new product, EXSATIVA was born.
In Switzerland oats have a long history. " SwissOats A111 " is
a variety of oats grown in Switzerland that perfectly adapted
to the climate and weather conditions of the country.
There remained yet an important task to determine the harvesting
time and to identify the optimum maturity, maximizing the important
biological substances in the plant. A very important step in the
development process consisted of the design of the extraction
technology.
The last step was the elaboration of a process of converting
the fresh plant into a dry powder, that can be used in the final
consumer product.
EXSATIVA is a combination of natural substances based on green
oat, nettle and the fruit of sea buckthorn. EXSATIVA contains
substances which stimulate the hypothalamus and help to reduce
the destruction of enzymes, hormones and vitamins. These substances
also help to increase the resilience of the heart and reduce the
deposits on the wall of the arteries.
OATS (AVENA SATIVA L.)
" A HIDDEN TREASURE OF NATURE "
The Huns - Atila's people and, also of historic fame, the Scots
and the English in the legend of Ivanhoe, were celebrated for
their physical force. All this legendary heroes have their forces
drawn from the oats contained in their diet. More recent is the
work of Kneipp, researcher and reputed "natural" healer, who proclaimed
oats the best alimentary substance mother nature has given to
us. Recent bio-chemical research has confirmed that oats, in addition
to their exceptional nutritional value, have remarkable medicinal
properties as well.
The stimulating effects of oats were already well known and prescribed
several thousand years ago in ancient China. In medieval Europe,
oat-based potions were recommended to alleviate affections of
the central nervous system.
Chemical analysis identified a number of biological substances
in oats. One of them is Avenine which, thanks to its specific
amino acids content, has eminent growth-enhancing properties.
Amongst the polysaccharides glucans should be mentioned as cholesterol-lowering
and immuno-stimulating agents.
In the green plant 28 flavonoids have been identified, among
others a group of apigenins. Flavonoids play an important role
in maintaining the arteries in good condition.
According to a recent study apigenins have other far reaching
biological effects. They inhibit the transformation process of
testosterone to oestrogens catalyzed by arômatase enzymes.
Oat products, recognised long ago, are famous antioxidant. Derivatives
of partially oxidized flavonoids, polyphenols, substantiate this
theory.
Gluco-vanilin essential constituent of the plant make horses
to eat more eagerly oats because of the vanilla content. It is
a less known but interesting fact, that during the Middle-Ages
vanilla was banned from monasteries because of its alleged aphrodisiac
properties.
No other medicinal plant has a higher zinc content than oats.
Zinc is a very versatile constituent of biologically vital enzymes.
Zinc is essential for the immune system, the eyesight, insulin
action or sexual functioning.

NETTLE (URTICAE DIOICA)
" SYMBOL OF THE GOD OF LIGHTNING "
Throughout history, nettle has been considered as one of the
most valuable medicinal plants. In ancient Greece, the country
of Aphrodite, nettle seeds were a popular aphrodisiac. Otto Brunfels,
the celebrated 19th century German scientist, attributed to nettle
exceptional healing powers.
Nettle is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and lipids. It
also has a high content of chlorophyll and iron, essential for
the red blood cell reconstitution. For this reason, in certain
countries nettle is consumed as soup or salad. Nettle-based homeopathic
tinctures are recommended as diuretic, muscle stimulant, hemostatic,
depurative and for the treatment of rheumatism. Besides vitamins
and minerals other substances are also responsible for the healing
power of nettle, like serotonin, acetylcholin, lecithin and tannin.
To treat benign prostate hyperplasia ( enlargement of the prostate),
nettle root extracts are used successfully. The obstruction of
the lower urinary tract in aging men is a frequent problem. Nettle
exerts a decongestive action on the prostate and thus relieves
the discomfort resulting from hyperplasia of the gland.
SEA BUCKTHORN (HIPPOPHAE RHAMNOIDES L.)
" BALSAM OF THE NORTH "
A special characteristic of this spiny and bushy plant is that
a separate female and a separate male plant are needed to produce
fruit. It grows throughout Europe above all in Scandinavia, and
also in Asia, particularly in Siberia. It prospers along estuaries,
dunes, seashores and water courses.
This unique fruit surpasses all known fruits and vegetables in
its Vitamins C content. Even lemon remains far behind in this
respect. Besides being rich in Vitamin C, sea buckthorn also contains
Beta Carotene, Vitamins B1, B2, B6, E and organic acids. The effect
of its abundant vitamin C contents is enhanced by the presence
of flavonoids and pectins of high molecular weight.
The healing potential of sea buckthorn is wide ranging. It protects
against infections of the respiratory apparatus and promotes cell
functioning. It protects the veins against arteriosclerosis, promotes
bone formation, fights scurvy and prevents gum-bleeding.
Sea buckthorn has proven to be effective against physical weakness,
headaches, lack of appetite and concentration and against mental
exhaustion. The substances contained in sea buckthorn slow down
the aging process and protect against radiation. The latter was
been intensely researched in the USSR.
SYNERGISM
Thanks to the complementarity of these vegetal substances, found
in oats, nettle and sea buckthorn, a pronounced effect of synergy
is obtained. Thus the synergetic action of the flavonoids of oats
with the vitamin C of sea buckthorn helps increase the permeability
of the arteries.
Another example of synergism is the joint action of the silicon
contained in oats with the vitamin C of sea buckthorn. It improves
the flexibility of the arteries. In similar fashion, the zinc
in oats (which has an important role in vital enzymes) acts best
when together with nettle's vitamin A, in improving eyesight,
insulin metabolism and sexual functions.
Components of EXSATIVA also contain neurotransmitters which are
of essential importance for the central nervous system. Oats with
proteolitic enzymes result L-dopa, nettle contains lecithin and
serotonin, while the butyric acid derivatives of sea buckthorn
are similar to the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma amino butyric
acid).
